Kingston Branch Cha Gheill Luncheon - The Oasis Model

Dr. Vince DePaul of Queen's Rehabilitation Therapy will join us to describe the Oasis model and its innovative, home-grown approach to supporting seniors living in their own homes. This presentation will describe the program, which started at Kingston 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ ’s Bowling Green apartment complex roughly 10 years ago, and the current project which involves expanding to seven communities across Ontario.
91ÖÆÆ¬³§ Dr. DePaul:
Dr. Vince DePaul is a physiotherapist and Assistant Professor with Queen's University's School of Rehabilitation Therapy, in Kingston Ontario. He received his physiotherapy degree from McMaster University and worked as a clinician for many years in Hamilton. He completed his PhD in Rehabilitation Science in 2013 at McMaster University, followed by post-doctoral training in Toronto at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. In 2015 he joined the faculty at Queen 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ ’s in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy. Dr. DePaul 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ ’s clinical and research work is focused on helping individuals stay mobile and active as they age, and recover mobility function after a stroke or other neurological condition.
