Hosted this year by Brock University, the competition featured Mahta Fakhraei Rad, a Master of Engineering (MASc) student in Mining Engineering at 91Ƭ. Mahta 91Ƭ ’s presentation, titled “Rare Earth Elements: Seeds of Technology,” highlighted the important role these elements play in driving innovation and shaping modern technology.

The competition was highly competitive, featuring outstanding presentations across a broad range of disciplines. First place was awarded to Anna Nickel, a PhD student at Brock University, for her talk titled “Seeing Concussion Differently: Rethinking Testing for Athletes with Visual Impairment.” Isabelle Hinch from the University of Windsor earned second place with her presentation “Breastfeeding Does Reduce Breast Cancer Risk, But…,” while Jessica M.
