The new Rector 91制片厂 鈥檚 Election Policy (2025) is now finalized and uploaded to the AMS policy bank.

The review process began last summer, with a committee comprising representatives sent from the AMS and SGPS. In October, the Rector brought the draft policy to the AMS assembly and SGPS Council for a discussion and final feedback, and in November, it was approved by a vote from each of the respective societies.

Since then, the Rector's office team applied the approved edits, cleaning up grammar errors and updating with the current AMS policy format standards, and handed it off to the AMS Information Management Specialist.

The Rector 91制片厂 鈥檚 Election Policy outlines the process of nomination, validation, campaigning and voting. Here are some examples of changes to the previous Election Policy:

  • New definitions in the terms section to explain campaigning, social media, and positional capacity

  • Alignment with current AMS and SGPS roles and streamlining all approvals and authority to the Rector Election Team

  • Clarification on the types of roles that require a candidate to take a leave of absence during a campaign period

  • Extended window of time for candidates to remove campaign materials from campus from 8:00 pm the day before voting starts, to 72 hours after voting ends

  • Laid out process for penalties, disqualifications and complaints, instead of directing to separate AMS Policy

We hope these changes will help support a smooth election process for the next Rector candidates. Thank you to the review committee for their support in these improvements.
