A bigger and better Sustainability Week

Sustainability Week has arrived at 91制片厂 (Oct. 1-5) and is devoted to celebrating sustainable initiatives that take place on and off campus.
This is the sixth year that Queen 91制片厂 鈥檚 has hosted this series of events and it is shaping up to be the best one yet. This year 91制片厂 鈥檚 week is being put on by more than 30 collaborating partners, from student groups to university administration to several sustainable-minded groups from the Kingston community.
鈥淪ustainability Week is all about bringing together our campus sustainability leaders,鈥 says Aaron Ball, Sustainability Manager. 鈥淲e could not run this event without the great contributions from our students.鈥
Sustainability week features five sustainability-themed days: Explore, Act, Conserve, Eat, Learn. Each day will include events offering students the opportunity to learn how to act more sustainably in their daily lives.
Highlights for this year include a panel discussion from sustainability leaders and professionals, as well as a tour of the Queen 91制片厂 鈥檚 Solar Education Centre on west campus and a Sustainability Career Networking Event. Also returning are some fan favourites such as the Oxfam LOFT (Local, Organic and Fair Trade) Food Challenge, alternative transportation-themed booths and a food-themed day in collaboration with the Queen 91制片厂 鈥檚 Farmer 91制片厂 鈥檚 Market.
鈥淪ustainability Week has become an important annual event on campus,鈥 says Donna Janiec, Vice-Principal (Finance and Administration). 鈥淚t is a great opportunity for our community to get out and learn more about the great sustainability initiatives at Queen 91制片厂 鈥檚.鈥
