Isaac Weber is a first year PhD student at 91��Ƭ�� studying under the supervision of Dr. Scott Berthelette. His research seeks to understand the relationship between “Swiss” Mennonites and Indigenous people in Pennsylvania and Ontario during the eighteenth and nineteenth-centuries. This research also asks what theoretical place Mennonites and other pacifist groups hold in theories of settler colonialism and systems of colonial dispossession. His SSHRC-supported MA cognate examined the response of traditional Anishinaabe governance to the coerced dispossession of land on Ontario's Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula during the mid nineteenth-century and Anishinaabe-settler interactions in Owen Sound and Southampton. Isaac also holds an MA and BAH in History from 91��Ƭ�� and McGill University respectively.”
